In the book One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest by Ken Kesy. The author introduces a new character named Randel McMurphy, he is seen as the rebel of the instutuion because he refuses to follow Nurse Ratched orders. "He keeps up his high-class manners around the nursses and the black boys in spite of anything they might say to him." McMurphy's attitiude towards the staff in particulary to Nurse Ratched is peculiar to the patients of the hospital becuase they view the nurse as an all powerfull woman who cannot be taken down. Now McMurphy is promoting a rebellion against the nurse and her three helpers in order to gain control of the place. His character reminds me of your typical everyday manipulator who uses his smart mouth to get people on his side. This is exactly what McMurphy desides to do when he encourages the reat of the patients to go on strike with him.
